MEET YOUR MAKER

Hi Everyone!  Welcome to MIKA Studio.  Happy to see you here and I hope you made it here because you’ve made a connection with my pieces.  My name is Frances and I am the designer and maker of every piece here at MIKA Studio.  I have always had a passion and appreciation for the handcrafted since I was little, and I have been a maker ever since then.  Creating with my hands has always been a part of my life.  I’ve ventured into multiple media over my lifetime, like crocheting/knitting, ceramics, and silversmithing, to name a few.  I recently came across bead weaving, and I absolutely fell in love with it.  It requires so much patience and time, that the creation of each piece is meditative.  Each bead is hand selected and strung/woven by me.  A single earring can have up to about 1,000 beads.  It is truly a labor of love, so please know that each earring is special and is made with intention.  I am constantly inspired by the world around me and I try to incorporate what I learn into my work.  

Having the least amount of impact on the environment has always been a core value in my life and now in my business.  I try my best to source from earth-conscious companies when I source my materials and packaging.  When you purchase from us, you can rest assured that much thought was put into the end life of everything you receive, from the earrings to the packaging.
